Project Management Office Enablement
The new Chief Information Officer at Indian & Northern Affairs Canada wanted to look at ways to increase the overall level of project throughput within the Information Technology organization. The organization had a project management office that was providing basic project support services, however the new CIO wanted to look at ways to develop better connections with the client areas and to produce the IT enabled solution in a more efficient and effective manner.
BMB Data helped the department to establish the Project Management Office Enablement project that was based on BMB Data’s PMO2™ framework. This project helped the department to re-engineer its IT centric project delivery to a new model that introduced the concept of tracking projects from the initial “opportunities” phase through to the final “outcomes” phase.
The new model was quickly adopted by the management team and formed a critical layer of the overall governance process that the department uses to turn opportunities into outcomes.
